1. [EKYORIGINS] George Van Hoose article [1]
Hi folks. A while back we had the George Van Hoose articles scanned. Since then I have been able to get a scanner myself and it converts a written document to text. Some of you couldn't open the original scanned documents so I'm posting the article, in parts.. as I complete it, again. There may be some typos that I've missed but for the most part, it worked out well. Here's part one: BiOGRAPHY THE OF A VAN HOOSE FAMILY George W Van Hoose Editor's Note: The Van Hoose historv which follows was written ab

Make sure everyone in your family gets a copy of this. And make sure it get put into an archive of some kind on the internet. I love it. I hope more people will do this as soon as they can "get it together." I wonder if the southern route he came back on was route 66. That was the one we used going out and coming back. Dad was on his way to Washington DC on a business trip and stopped in Abingdon VA (my mother lived there as a child) with my mom. He happened to talk to the owner of the Martha Washington Inn who related that Dad's Preston family and the Prestons of Abingdon were one and the same. Most us of have family that lived near Abingdon about 1790 (Ramey, Osburn, Auxier, Brown, Van Hoose, Neville, Hamilton, Blanton, Davis, Blevens, Pelfrey are some of several that I know of) but I wasn't aware that the Prestons w
