Hi There was a Pearce at my Great Aunt's funeral in 1931. The funeral was at All Saints ChurchTuckingmill . Mrs M Pearce and Mr and Mrs O Pearce attended the funeral along with members of my family. If you think there could be a connection please let me know. 5. ALLAN surname in the Redruth area... [1]
After recently obtaining a new e-mail address, I thought I'd re-post a query I made some time back. This really is a long shot, I know, but I'm trying to find out whether there are any folk with the ALLAN surname in this corner of Cornwall who had connections with London and/or Brighton in Sussex. After having had a great deal of success researching my mother's side of the family, I'm trying to make some headway with my father's side, but do not have the advantage of relations to ask for guidance. I'

9. Re: ENG-CORNWALL-REDRUTH-D Digest V05 #66 [1]
First, Happy New Year to all of you. As I look out the window, I see 2 foot snowbanks. Snow will continue to dump onto the Keweenaw Peninsula until Lake Superior freezes. It has only frozen over three times in all the years that records have been kept so we're likely to see a lot more. I marvel that my Cornish great-grandparents survived, especially the first winters here in the mid 1800s. I'm not sure it was as hard on the men as it must have been on the women, struggling with small children.
10. PETERS [1]
Here is my PETERS wish list. Thomas PETERS (bapt.?) married Eliz. WILLIAMS (possibly d/o William & Jane WILLIAMs bapt. 1785 St. Gluvias) in Redruth 6 Sept. 1806 I'm descended from their son, Thomas PETERS( bapt. 24 Dec. 1809 Stithians) who married Catherine PEARCE (bapt. 1808 Stithians) in 1837 Stithians. Looking for information on: Tabitha PETERS bapt. 2 Feb. 1812 Perranarworthal d/o Thomas (miner) & Betsey Does she belon
11. The Maddern family [1]
Hi I would like to thank everybody in the group who helped me find Mary Ann Maddern. Particularly Maurice who found her obituary in the archives at Redruth. He also found the graves of the Maddern family I have now been very lucky and found her husband's great grandson on the Genes reunited site. He has filled in lots of details for me. This all started with a black and white photo and the name Mary Ann. That is all we had to go on. I knew she died in 1931 and lived at the cottage in Carn Brea. Joyce
12. Re: [Redruth] New Year Roll Call [1]
The surnames I am researching in the Redruth Cornwall area are; Dudley, Bryant, Tyack, Wills, Taylor, Harvey, Curnow, Allen, Gundry and Uren. Many of them were from the Ludgvan, Uny Lelant area and I'm not really sure how close that is to Redruth?? The latest information I have on the families is as follows; Richard Dudley born 1759 in Redruth, married Anne Bryant of St. Hillary in 1784, a son John was born May 6th 1787 in Germoe. John Tyack of St. Hillary married Elizabeth Wills in 1784, a da
13. Re: [Redruth] ALLAN surname in the Redruth area... [1]
Hi David: I am not a very good genealogist but just thinking about it , you could write a letter to all of the people in the redruth area with that name. you could look at the IGI for that name, and 1871census for Cornwall is on line. I hope someone else could email you with help. How about the message boards online at < rootsweb.com> Cousin Jack says have a happy new year David Allan wr >
14. Re: PEARCE [1]
Hi! Thank you Joyce & Dave for your PEARCE connections. I'm afraid our branch of the family seems to have lost touch with relatives in Cornwall. Mrs. Mary/Gertrude WEAR who lived at The Cabin, Buller Terrace, Redruth, in 1960s & died in a nursing home in 1991, was the only link I knew of. She was born Gertrude Mary PASCOE 6 May 1808 & her parents, John Colman & Emily(SPARGO) PASCOE lived at Tubbin Hill Stithians at that time. I believe she had siblings but I haven't located them. Maybe your relatives k
15. Paynter-Perks - Redruth to Wales [1]
JOHN (or Jonathan) PAYNTER married Elizabeth PERKS at Redruth, Cornwall, in 1734. They had 4 sons baptised at St. Uny, Redruth between 1735 and 1741. This is the family who went to Amlwch, Anglesey, "to see about some mines" probabaly in the late 1760's. The copper mines there were not discovered until 1768 and the earliest Paynter reference in the Amlwch area is for Jonathan's son Andrew in 1770. Jonathan Paynter - left Redruth, Cornwall in 1760s + Elizabeth (nee Perks) married in 1734 and had 4 sons (I-
16. Rollcall [1]
My names I am looking for are: EUSTIS EUSTICE EUSTACE from the Feock area. And has any one found a George Eustis born about 1784 and married to Philippa Bullen in 1811? I am trying to find out when he might have died. Also if Philippa came back to England from the US when did she die. Thank you and Happy New year. Jean

18. New Year Roll Call - Phillips [1]
> > >I would like to thank everybody in the group who helped me find Mary Ann Maddern. > This is what I find so addicting with mailing lists. You just never know who or when someone, out of the blue, will come along and break down your brick walls! Maybe for the upcoming New Year, we should get our names online by posting roll calls. You just never know who is out there to help your research. Here is what mine looks like: I have traced my Phillips family in Redruth back to Thomas Phillips b ca 1
