2. RE: Smith/Jeffery - Redruth [1]
Hi Lois, I am not researching your family, but thought you might not know how easy it is: for example I just looked up the marriage on freebmd and found that George Smith married Eleanor Jeffery at Redruth Mar 1/4, 1851 # 9 279 Now you can buy it online for 12 pounds. You can also look up a lot of the census material on genuki, and, if not, for a nominal charge on 1837 online for the 1861 census, and get full details of the family in 1841, 1851, 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891 from various places. 1881 is always

Her name was Grace Jeffery at the time of her birth in 1725. When I saw Smith/Jeffery I got excited , I thought that I had found a relative . The Smith family of Camborne used the name of Jeffery or smith as they saw fit , so perhaps we have a couple of cousins marring. I am no longer searching so I will never

I keep hoping someone will come up with Smitherm, Smetham, Smithem. My hope is that this is not an inappropriate posting. Coming up in July 2007, Keweenaw Kernewek, the Cornish Connection of the Copper Country (Upper Peninsula of Michigan, USA) will be one of the hosts of Far From 'Ome, the 14th Gathering of Cornish C
