Hi Pam, I have a slight connection to Ditchburn. My 3GGG grandfather William Ditchburn married Anne Slummers 13th May 1797. Their daughter Ellen was born in Burneston Yorkshire on 4th October 1809 and she married John Miller 12th April 1834. I hope we can connect. Hi Ruth - My surname, Raine, appears on your list. My Raines were from County Durham/Yorkshire, the area around Middleton-in-Teesdale and Holwick, then into Darlington about 1882. According to my copy of Cleveland FHS transcription there are no Howells listed. Nor a Catherine Smith, what age would your William? Hello, Have been told the name of RAINE and RAINEY were from the same family as RENNIE, RENNEY and RENNY, many years ago, and were copied down incorrectly, have you heard that ?
