7. RE: [PORTSMOUTH-GOSPORT] CLARK - PORTSEA. [1]
Hi Lesley, I checked the 1861 ships census but found no likely candidates. I would suggest to you that you include, if you can, your Henry CLARKs birth/christening date and/or birth place. There are about one dozen Henry CLARKs but most of them were younger and single in 1861. There is no index for those two censuses. Just a brief update from Rootsweb on this topic and hopefully, we won't have to bore the non- AOL'ers any more..........that said, the link http://helpdesk.rootsweb.com/ is extremely useful to us all - and if you do get problems is well worth a visit. Take care Linda & Tony " After some trials and tribulations, RootsWeb has finally heard back from AOL's postmaster staff and we have started the process to get the problem resolved with AOL's bouncing of mail to LISTS2 mailing lists. 15. Re: [PORTSMOUTH-GOSPORT] List Help [1]
Hello Rita and all listers ANY assistance that listers can give is indeed help. A fiche machine is not necessary as reference materials, censuses or indeed free look ups if someone is going to a record office or LDS centre possibly if time allows would all prove useful. Thanks to all who have contributed so far. A Happy New Year to you all and here's to a happy and successful rellie hunt in 2004. Good luck to you all. 20. RE: [PORTSMOUTH-GOSPORT] Ships - 1861 census [1]
Hi Imogen, It appears that there is no match for either of your PENNELLs. I also scanned each entry with the PENNELL name but no one was born in either location you mentioned. Of course, all that had to happen was for them to have spent the night ashore and they wouldn't appear on the ships census.
