1. [ENG-LIV] ss Coronia passenger list [1]
My wife's uncle Charles FOX (b 1894) was supposed to have emigrated to America on board the "Coronia" from Liverpool in 1910. He travelled with his brother Myer FOX (b1890) and we have traced Meyer through the Ellis Island site who arrive in New York on 11th May 1910. However we have not found any trace of Charles on the site and wonder if there are other passenger lists available for us to search. Thanks Geoff Plymouth

3. [ENG-LIV] Black/Stoddart [1]
I would be grateful if anybody could give me any any information on any of the five people named below. Thomas BLACK, watchmaker and later tin-plate worker, born Scotland and married there in 1830 to Jane STODDART. They moved to Liverpool in the late 1830s with a son James, born in Dumfries in 1834. A second son, Alexander was born in Liverpool in 1840 and married Agnes RANKIN. I am particularly interested in the ancestors of Thomas Black and of his wife Jane. Thank you Dave

7. Re: [ENG-LIV] Photographs re Old Liverpool - Catalogued for 2007 and then 2008 ? [1]
Dear Shaun, I do agree that most people in liverpool are interested in photos ect rather than wills cemetery records ect BUT this list is a FAMILY HISTORY list and not a local history site. I agree both subjects go hand in hand but I think most subscribers are records orientated. Keith in Malta . ----- Original Message ----- From: Shaun R. 8. [ENG-LIV] Winifred & Owen Rooney 1841 census [1]
Hi List I am from Sydney Australia and would like to know if there is an Index for the 1841 census of Liverpool. I am seeking information about Owen & Winifred Rooney. At the time of the 1841 census they would have had three children Caroline , Bridget and Dennis who was born in 1841. Owen & Winifred Rooney were in Tasmania Australia by 1851 and the two youngest children came out in 1850 regards Faye.
9. Re: [ENG-LIV] Searching for Price [1]
Hello Sheila, My brother-in-law was a James Price(now deceased) his father was a Charles Price, but seemed to remember him mention an aunt or great aunt named Elizabeth, but don`t know a lot about the family background I am afraid. This family lived around the Prescot area, which is just on the outskirts of Liverpool. If you have your grandmothers definite date of birth then it may be worth while you sending for her Birth certificate, which would then give you her mothers maid

All this talk about photos .... Are there any photos, of an the Italian Community in Liverpool? What I am tryng to do is gather as many photographs of Italian Communities in the British Isles as possible. I am still deliberating on the fine details, but obviously this will be linked to the Anglo Italian Family Hsitory Society. If anyone can help, I would be delighted to hear from them. 15. Re: [ENG-LIV] SYMPATHY. [1]
Hi Ted My daughter got married in Las Vegas in May and the marriage is perfectly legal in the UK. We checked before going to US. The marriage can be registered with GRO for #10 if the couple wish to do this. I agree that future genealogists will have problems finding their ancestors, in many cases, but illegitimate births have been around since the year dot. I found out recently via Scottish BMD that my g.g. grandfather was born out of wedlock and that has brought my research on his family to a grinding

22. [ENG-LIV] inherited white hair streak [1]
Hi Jayne, just as matter of interest, one of the characters in Edward Rutherfurd's saga on London sported a blonde hair streak which identified the family through many generations. The book follows several family roots from the very beginning and the growth of London to recent times.Rutherfurd also touched on the French surnames imposed on the English by the Norman Conquest and how many of these names, over time, were Anglicized and bore little resemblance to the French originals. David , in sunny Alberta
