Hello everyone, i am hoping someone can answer this question for me. My g.g.grandfather's sister died in 1928. At the time of her death she was living at The Alms House on Foundation Street, Ipswich. If in fact she was buried and not cremated in which church would her service go through if she had a service at a church.
Bob
Hi Bob,
If she had been a member of a particular church they may well have conducted her service there but Ipswich Cemetery does have its own church for burial services and the vicar of your church conducts the service there. I know this because my mother in law was buried in Ipswich in 1980 and the service was conducted in the cemetery church with the vicar of her parish church,St. Augustine's, officiating.

so do you happen to have their email address.

Hello,
This reply is in 3 parts:
1. Some information about how the IGI has been compiled - this will help you
understand the results that you get from searching.
2. An answer to your query.
3. Some advice and suggestions to help you.
1. How the IGI has been compiled.
There are two main sources of information in the IGI: (a) transcriptions of
entries from church records; (b) entries from family trees submitted by

Hi Bob,
The only one I can find is www.bereavementservices@ipswich.gov.uk
If you google and ask for Ipswich Cemetery one of the sites which comes up refers to Ipswich Chapels in Ipswich Cemetery, it is a Suffolk Churchs site and has pictures of two of the cemetery churchs.
Good Luck,
Carol
