1. RE: [EoLFHS] Abney Park Cemetery [1]
Hi I think I must be doing something wrong as I cannot see an ABCDEFG option, all I see are the two frames both Ancestry search facilties. Thank you very much. Derek ===

3. Re: [EoLFHS] memories--- Barking [1]
Hi Sue, My memories of Barking Creek are of barges going down river taking London's "waste" in great smelly quantities. The great fishing industry had long since past. Pamela 8956

8. Re: [EoLFHS] being helpful [1]
I have to agree with the sentiments expressed by Barry and a few others. The cost of joining is so small and the subscription helps fund the society's work. Even being a member I would hesitate in asking for something that wasn't advertised as being available. I belong to several Family History Societies because I don't live locally to all of the areas of the country I have interests in and I hope my small contribution will help make more resources to become available. 11. [EoLFHS] re Census [1]
Hello Listers, Do not give up on your search, I searched for years for this family on LDS films. Duncan Smith from Dundee with his 1851 CD found my Fackrell family Benjamin and Matilda at 11 William St St/G/E under the name JACKNELL. All very clear,so the enumerator must have taken it that way from the sheet they gave to the family or heard it the wrong way. The Index for this area is in a book, I would not have thought to look under this spelling.Tried just about everything else though. Try, try, and try a
12. [EoLFHS] Virus Warning - from the List Manager [1]
Only exceptionally will I post warnings, and I know the List appreciates that the responsibility is reserved to myself. Please everyone check their AV program for Updated Definitions. Norton issued Automatic LiveUpdate yesterday *and* today. High Risk viruses at Grade 3 & 4 have been identified. Indeed, this List has been targeted. However you may rest assured that a virus *cannot* be received from a List. It may purport to do so, one of mine today did, but Rootsweb scanners strip *all* attachments.

My in-laws were born in E16 (1920) and Tidal Basin (in 1919). They left London after being bombed out for the second time in WW2. 19. [EoLFHS] National Monuments Record - FYI [1]
The following has been received from English Heritage SNIP Dear friends of the NMR Closure of the NMR's London search room and its relocation to Swindon. In April I wrote to you, on behalf of the staff of the London NMR, about English Heritage's proposal to close our Blandford Street search room and consolidate the NMR's public service functions in Swindon. In view of this possibility we were given permission to consult our users, peers and partners about this proposal. Enclosed is a copy of the results

Hello Shirley, You would not recognise Barking now. The last time we went there we got lost on the new road system. Hi Ian, Having been Honorary Secretary of Essex FHS, the cost of joining 'a' society if only just one for just a year is minimal.
