I've married a LUCKINGS (that S is very important) and there is only himself and his sister left of the family, so I'm trying to find the previous generations and it is not easy. I appreciate that the surname probably acquired its S in the mid-1850s, but I'd still like to keep it narrowed down where possible. (Also in the family are the JARMANs, who are mostly London with a brief sojourn in Suffolk before coming back again. But you never know

Can anyone help I am looking for a school for missionaries sons the information I have and I quote - 'When he was 11 years old (c 1837), George Aillen PRITCHARD was sent to be educated at a school for missionaries sons at Walthamstow, Essex, the Rev J FREEMAN was in charge. Finishing school in 1842-3 he returned to Tahiti where his father was now British Consul.' His brother William Thomas PRITCHARD may also have been there too. Thanks Beth NZ

16. Orphanages and the May family [1]
To all, Hi, I'm after information on my Great Uncles George, William, and Bert(Herbert?) May. George was placed in the St. Georges Orphanage at Brentwood and William and Bert were placed in East Maldon Orphanage. This is the only information that we have and this was only found on my Grandfathers enlistment papers for the Army in 1907 (his name was Reginald) their parents were Charles and Elizabeth May.
