1. Roll Call * Pearl Evans [1]
Here is my Evans. She is the only one I have found. My grandmother's mother was Pearl Evans. I know very little about her. She married Edgar Columbus Huntsinger. It is said that she was Cherokee but I have no evidence to either prove or disprove that. Pearl and Edgar had three daughters. Chester Huntsinger (Yes, she's a female) was born January 26, 1908 in Starkville, Oktibbeha Co., Mississippi, died September 09, 1985 in Athens, GA. Annie Bea Huntsinger was born about 1910.

3. Re: Temperence "Tempy"Evans [1]
Margaret... The James Evans I mentioned was the son of William P. James K. and his brother, Alexander, married sisters, Phoebe and Permelia Waldrop. They moved to AR. When the CW started, both men were in it. They agreed that if one didn't return, the other would help raise their family along with his own. James did not return. Phoebe, with the help of Alexander and Permelia raise a good family. There were five sons who became ministers. They can be found in "Lest We Forget" which is a book written about M

6. Re: Walter Evans [1]
I am new to the Evans list but could not help but be drawn to this particular posting, especially about the Evans who were in North Carolina. I am looking for Henry Evans, b. 1789 in North Carolina (married to Catharine?) and then moved to Dallas County, Missouri, perhaps via Kentucky. He was in Missouri by 1839 along with two other Evans gents, John Evans, b. 1808 in North Carolina and married Merium Stark, and Samuel W. Evans, b. 1810 in North Carolina, married Sally (?). All three, Henry, John and Samu
7. Re: ROLL CALL? [1]
Here's another: an Evans (John?) who had children in GA between 1786 and 1810. Some of the children's names were perhaps Thomas, Turner, Anselm, Elizabeth, Susan, John, Martha. They married into WOOD, TRIMBLE, WHITE, GINDRAT, TURNER and BRYAN families. Would like to find information prior to the birth of these children. Some assumptions are that their father (John?) MAY have been married into a SHACKELFORD family and that he MAY have had siblings named Henry, Mildred, Susannah, Mary, Letitia, Elizabeth, S

Hi John, I got your email. I will try to check at the Cleveland Public Library. If unsuccessful, I will call Ohio Historical Society in Columbus. I am sure that the Library has at a minimum indices of Ohio Civil War Veterans. You want the Civil War record right. You apparently have the pension application. If you want further information on the pension, you will probably have to call the National Archives in Washington and ask about which records center you should mail for pension information. 18. Re: John Evans from Wales [1]
Nancy, I am interested in your John Evans from Wales married to Jane Watkins. I have a John Evans born about 1795 living in Armstrong County, PA. One of the census records indicates he may have been born in Maryland, rather than Wales so it is a long shot that these two are connected. I have had great difficulty trying to find out my John Evans parents. He married a woman named Charity. Do you have any infromation regarding your John born 1793? Regards, Roxanne

Hi, Kay! Thank you for your reply and offer to share!! I do appreciate it. I have seen your William P. Evans in my search but I do not think it is my great-great-grandmother's brother. Her brother was married to Jemima. There were two William P. Evans; they were in the same area, I believe, and could have been related. I have found that relatives named their children the same name back years ago. John Brinkley Burks and Temperence Evans had a son named William Pulaski Burks. I do not know how
