1. [EXULANTEN-L] Muehlleitners in Austria [1]
Hello Fellow Researchers, My maiden name is Muhlitner(Muehlleitner) and, although my great grandfather came to the United States in1852 from his hometown of Ziswingen, Bavaria, Germany I believe the family had to leave the Salzburg area because of their religious beliefs. The earliest resource I have is from a wedding register in Buhl/Ries in the year 1664: Balthasar Muehlleitner from Unterregau in a small area of land above the Enz (a river). In a wedding registry of Balgheimer of 1668, this remark was

HI to all of us! I think the way we contact each other is to ask questions. Maybe we could pass on information better that way. Let's revitalize this thing and get together again. Here goes: I am looking for any information that I can obtain on the Klotzbier family, another spelling might be Glotzbier. The particular family I am looking for was from the Austro-Hungarian empire and I think it might be from the Banat area . The obituary of my father-in-law states that he was born in Hungary. His n

Hello, I am here in KY, USA. My maiden name was Feltner which evolved over the years since about 1750 from Voelkner (and several spelling variations). The Voelkner family fled Austria because there they wanted everyone at that time to be Catholic. There had been a flu or some illness that had wiped out a lot of the population of Prussia so the leader of Prussia said those fleeing could come to his country. After one generation in Prussia the Voelkners came on to USA (around 1750) and in their migratin

Well I am pleased to say I had a number of responses to my request for signs of life on Exulanten, glad to see it is alive and well. Guess I was a bit surprised to find a relatively quiet list as I also subscribe to a list that has so much mail that you have to clear it every day or it becomes absolutely unmanageable! My research is into the TORCKLER background. Unfortunately there seems to be a vast number of very similar names in early Germany/Prussia. It appears to be almost certain that the na

7. [EXULANTEN-L] Wels, Austria [1]
Hello! I am researching my Welskopf family in East Prussia. I have been told by two Welskopf's in Germany, that our ancestors may have originated in the city of Wels, Austria. I ask please, for direction in this possibility. Any consideration of this e-mail would be greatly appreciated. Mark Welskopf __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? 9. [EXULANTEN-L] New to the list [1]
Hello the Exulanten list I subscribed in about a week ago and have been'lurking' to try and get in tune with the list. I am now starting to wonder if I am correctly connected or if I am the only person on the list. I have seen no messages at all!... Maybe everyone is on holiday? If I get some response to this 'mayday signal' I will post my interests. My regards to all those people who must be out there somewhere.
