9. [FEATHERSTONE] perhaps I'm not a Featherstone after all (involves the milkman) [1]
Just got my first lot of certificates of birth marriage and death from my first ever visit to the Family Records Office in London. John Featherstone (age 25) a milkman of Chiselhurst, Kent FATHER UNKNOWN married Mary Martin, (age 23) at the Parish Church, Chiselhurst. Does this mean his father may not have been a Featherstone? His birth record has no father, his mother was Rebecca Featherstone who married Thomas Featherstone and they had three previous children christened at the same church. I assumed Th

All; While having breakfast the other morning in a "chain-style" restaurant, I noticed they had a lot of old books on shelves for decorative purposes.....being naturally nosy.....there was a set that caught my eye, called "The Everyday Man Encycolpaedia." Of course, I check the "F" volume first....no luck....however, I decided to check the "H" related volume...for my mother's "Hamilton" side of the family...and that's where I found HARRY FETHERSTONHAUGH! I have the book on loan, from the restaurant
14. Re: [FEATHERSTONE] Sarah Featherstone [1]
Angela: Thanks for your interest. I can't see any connection right now, but I will keep your letter on file for future reference, in case I run across those names. Of course, the ones I'm looking for are James Featherstone and his unknown wife. If I can only find the marriage record for Thomas Hotchkiss and Sarah Featherstone, it might give more details, including the mother's name. Unfortunately, their marriage took place 6 years before the Province of Ontario began keeping central records. My hope is to f
15. Re: [FEATHERSTONE] Sarah Featherstone [1]
Ity's possible you could be related to me through Sarah Featherstone. My gggrandfather's first wife was named Mary Featherstone, and came from County Durham. My gggrandfather was named James Walker Welsh. Mary was born in around 1850. She died about 1883, and James remarried a lady called Sarah Watson, my gggrandmother. However, the marriage celebrant was a Watson Featherstone..making me think the families may have somehow been connected. What do you think? Can you see any links there? Regards Angela ----

Christine On checking familysearch.com there is the baptism of Thomas Featherston 15th July 1764, at Tudeley & Chapel, Kent, England, to Arther & Jane Featherston. Using the same search facility I cannot find the marriage that you are interested in. Familysearch can find no marriage involving an Arthur Featherston, but how many times do we find this with the IGI. Raymond Wilby Morley
23. Re: [FEATHERSTONE] Sometimes you stumble onto data in the weirdest places.... [1]
Hi Darlene, You'll find pictures of Lady Hamilton in any book about Lord Nelson, also you might get further information from thr National Maritime Musem at Greenwich (UK) http://www.nmm.ac.uk/ E-mail manuscripts@nmm.sc.uk Actually your quote puts it mildly. Lady Hamilton died in the red light district of France with her daughter Horatia in attendance. Horatia later married a Rector and lived well into her 90's. There's a brilliant book by Nora Lofts called Emma Hamilton of which I have a copy myself. Sir
