Hi everyone,
I have been on the CNN list of both found and missing, and still have not
found John. I am a member of the World War II American War Orphans Network
(AWON) and we have many military contacts, so I put the word out to them,
and listed messages for John at CNN, I just pray that he finds them.
John has always had a special place in my heart, for he was the first person
I was ever in contact with when I started my FitzRandolph research. He has
been a true cousin to me.
Please keep John in you
Hello everyone,
I wanted to keep everyone informed on the search for John as I get the information. I have been in touch with a cousin of John's and here is what she had to say
Hello, Trisha,
No, not a word. I was just answering an e-mail from a nephew of his, Dan Rhymes. He was asking, also. I realize the Quarter was badly hit, but there are many dangers other than the waters.
Should you or anyone else hear, please let me know. A cousin, Cynthia Parish, had joined the search. She contacted FEMA
Me, too, Jane. I just found a site where you can enter names to see if
they've been heard from. Also, I think John lived iin the French quarter
(?), and that's higher ground, although that doesn't take care of the water,
power, etc. I'll keep checking & let you all know if I find anything.
My sis-ter-in-law, age 93, is here with us now, having gone to Jackson with
a neighbor, and here via my children getting here. They & my grandchildren
(grown) have helped set things up for her.
Here's the url - htt
I am looking for the burial place of my ancestor, John M FitzRandolph who died on April 27,1872 in Newark, NJ. I can not find him listed in any cemetery.
Thanks

So glad John's all right and out of the toxic
atmosphere for the time being. As Norma said,
anything we can do, please ask us. That's what family
is for.

Thanks to all who have written to enquire, and
especially to my niece Cynthia for all her help and
good work.
During Betsy I rode it out and felt it was high
adventure but then I was 40 years younger and found it
exciting. Katrina however was an entirely different
kettle of fish. It was FIERCE, I'm now old and creaky
and the experience was apprehensive and frightening.
The hurricane itself was over in a matter of about 9
hours but then the levee broke and with it all hell
broke loose. No electricity
he went to South Carolina for a bit while things get
straightened out. Said there's minimal damage to his
place.

Some of us are concerned about him since he lives in
New Orleans. We're praying he's all right.

Wonderful news! Thanks for letting us all know. We have all been praying for him.
I'm sure John will have lots to share in the coming months about his trials.
God bless all those who have suffered and those that are helping.

Hello,
Bill Marshall here. I too will be praying for John to be found well.
It is a hard thing to imagine this happening in our world.
We need to thank God for our blessings at the time of our prayers
for John and the other people effected by this hurricane.
Bill

Many thanks for letting us know that John is ok!! John, it appears you have a huge number of friends and we all were very concerned. Our morning paper looks as if no one is going to be able to stay in their homes. When you get located somewhere and are on line, let us know all about your good luck in surviving. Our thoughts & prayers were with you.
