I have a Charles KERSEY born somewhere around 1800. If the naming pattern is
semi correct then his father might have been a James KERSEY and he might have
been born around 1770 -1780. I am desperate to find the father of Charles
KERSEY. Charles is believed to have been married to a lady named Judy or
Juda. Both Charles and Judy were born in Georgia. Around 1840 or 1841 they
moved to Madison Co., FL. They had four children named (1) James M., (2)
Edward Jackson, (3) Sarah A., and (4) Nathaniel C
I inherited a virus from a friend and believe that it may have gone
out in messages that I mailed in the last couple of days. It is
called Kak, and attacks outlook express. below are instructions on
how to clean up your email from this virus. Symatec has a virus
checker for this. Kak attaches to your signature file, it
automatically infects who ever receives the email. It does not come
as an attachment.

Can someone please explain the following to me? My guess is that the "8" and
"3" were difficult to read and that is why I have two different dates from
two sources or it is a typo. In any case, what is the correct birthdate? 1836
or 1886 ?
Listed in the Pilgrim Rest Cemetery in Jackson Co, FL is the following:

Another question: One source has a note " s/o J.B. & Emma Yon." This, I
assume, is Joseph Bejamin Yon a

Has anyone experienced a takeover of a pioneer family cemetery though a
Florida Statute....F.S. Chapter 95.18?
It is believed this occurred in a central Florida county within the last few
years by a party maintaining or using the property for their own possession
for a certain period of time.
If your family has a cemetery that is overgrown, or not fenced, beware. Would
love to hear from you if you have had any experience with this.

John Tolson LOWE, Rev. Soldier, Maryland, married to Susannah. Died Nassau County, FL., ca 1820. John and Susannah
had 16 children. Fernando and Elizabeth were two. Also, possibly Allen, John W. and George. Susannah was living in Hamilton
County in 1870. She was 85. Some records of the family (?) were in old records of Alachua County. Any info on John T. and
the family would be appreciated. Kenn
To all who answered my query on tombstones in Florida. I found part of the

I am searching for the descendants of Glenn and Eva Mae Dansby Osborn
(Osborne). Eva Mae was born in Ms. and died in Orlando. She had a son
Charles and a daughter. I found an Eva Osborn born Dec. 16 1887 and died May
1997 but no location was given on SSDI.
Reviewing the searches made on my sites, I see that folks are continuing
to input long strings of words. Allow to me suggest, once again, that a
surname alone will likely produce better results. Jim Johnson

Someone recently expressed interest in the name Yost in Dade City, Pasco
County. Volume III of D.B. McKay's PIONEER FLORIDA, gives this: Daniel E.
Yost, born in Ohio 1868, drowned near San Antonio, Florida, in 1946. His
wife was Marjorie McElroy Yost, born Ohio, died Dade City November 30, 1957.
I know of one child, Eurylee Josephine Yost, who was born in Woodsfield, OH
April 29, 1904 (per McKay) and who married Edward Munroe Covington; Mr.
Covington was a contractor in Dade City. I believe both Mr. and Mrs

"Springfield Families" by Thomas B. Warren.

"Pynchon's Births, Marriages and Deaths 1638-1696".
all of which were compiled from the record books he and his son kept for
a number of years.

Hi
I am new to this list, and I wonder if any of you can help me with a
question I've been unable to answer.
My grandmother (Maybelle Jackson Griffin, dau. of Leslie E. Jackson & Amy E.
Taylor) in her memoirs, says that her family homesteaded land in "Okalanta"
around 1915-1918. She states "It was nothing but sawgrass and muck" and that
there were around 20 people in the town and a one room church and school.
They left after a few years and then homesteaded 40 acres in Walton. I think
