For the record, I never told anyone that a Jacob Michael Pfautz (Fouts) was the father of Susannah Fouts. She was the daughter of Michael Fouts and Catherine Varner, and Michael was the son of Jacob Pfautz and his first wife. Karrie: Cutliff HARMON moved to Wilkes Co NC c1790, into the area which became Ashe Co in 1799 and Watauga Co in 1849. Susannah died there in 1817. Randolph was split off from Guilford in 1779. According to the late Audrey Woodruff (whom Dr Davenport said finally got it right), Susannah's father was Jacob Michael PFAUTZ, not the Hans (John) Michael which had been previously thought. According to Audrey's deed tracing, this line of PFAUTZes migrated from Skippack, PA, to Lancaster Co and then across the MD
