Peter Fouts married 31 March 1839 Jerusha Denend (RE: Marriage record) now for the fun part and I can not confirm or deny this but it was said that Jerushas' daughters or at least one of them being Sarah Jane who married Golias Bonebrake was Cherokee. The information I have was just recently brought to my attention but the lady who gave me this did not have any sources to back up this evidence.
