Hello For some time, I have been trying to trace a marriage and the births of two children in Paris, in the 1850's. I am not conversant with the French system of registration, and would be grateful if someone could assist me. I have written to various authorities and contacted the French Embassy, and eventually got to the Direction de Services, d'Archives de Paris, who suggested that I pay a personal visit. For various reasons, mainly age, this is impractical, though I was recommended to apply to 'l'itat
