I had ATT Worldnet dial up service for a long time. When ATT and Bell South Merged Bell South agreeded to offer dsl for 10.$/month for at least 3 years. It is not the fastest service in town but it sure beats dial up. This has not been advertised much but it is out there. Not to belabor this point, but I have tried unsuccessfully for years to get DSL where I live (SW Hinds County, near Utica) and every time I ask anybody, including Bell South/AT&T, they say it is not available.
