Henderson Co, NC and cold as blue blazes and I just read you messages and
enjoyed a chuckle, Thanks again
With a million Freemans in this nation, someone must have done a lot of
dateing before us.
Don't you think.???? HMI

Hi, Robert,
I don't know very much about English geography. My ggf, Charles Henry
Freeman, was born in Stirchley, near Birmingham, in 1860. His dad was
Charles Freeman baptised in Feckenham, Worcestershire, born in 1831. Does
that sound at all interesting??

I've just started to research my lines and subscribed to this list. I see
dates going back to the 1800s, and I must say, I am very impressed! I
don't know how you all have managed to find this information. I just found
out my maternal great-grandparent's names and wonder if they crisscross with
any research you may have already done. My grandfater was Leonard Wilton
Freeman, Jr. from Easley, South Carolina in Easly County. He was born on
08/20/1920. He married Katy Bell Bagwell. His parents were Leona
Lisa I meant to say about the Social Security CD. They give you a
number , what you do is write to SS and ask for
a copy of their application for SS. It has all kind of info on it,
sometimes more than others. It depends on what all the people wrote in
answer to questions, and also if other questions were asked, that they
had to answer.
Hope that helps. They do take a long time to answer but it is helpful
most of the time.

Hi Carol,
I have the Brewster line, already, but thanks anyway. Another 'cuzzin', in
Maryland, sent it to me a year or so ago.
If you wouldn't mind, I'd like, at least, a "nutshell" line from John
Freeman/Mercy Prence. I have a separate database to accomodate all my
newly-found 'cuzzins', and to show the degree of relationship between them
and me. Would love to be able to add you to my family tree!
Hope to hear from you soon.

Shelly,
Did your Jackson Freeman marry Jane (maiden name unknown)? Did they live in
west Tennessee? At least in 1860 and 1870? Did he have daughters, Elizabeth,
b. abt 1859 and Mary, b. abt 1845?
If so, I would like more information on this family and to compare notes
with you. This could be the connection that we have been looking for! A
grandson of Jackson also went to Texas and lived there with his family late
1800s and early 1900s.
Hoping to hear from you,
Beverly

Hello Jean,
I have Captain Joseph Freeman, s/o Samuel and Margaret Smith Freeman. He
married
Rebecca Nickerson in 1764 in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. He and Rebecca had ten
children according to F.F.N.S. p47; VRL vol.126:57 [168]. Also found in
Perkins Diary 1785. p 292. Note. Unless there were other children not named
in the above sources, there is not a Lydia amongst them.
I have a number of Lydia Freemans in my data base, but none of them have a
Joseph for their father.
Sorry that I couldn't be of more help
Wasn't one of the books mentioned on that page one that was floating around
in some fairly recent e-mails? (The Early Freeman of Surrey County......)

Dear Doug,
I thought it interesting you directed our Researchers to an article

Hi Jerri,
You're right; Mary Freeman married Samuel Hinckley. I was just pulling
names off the top of my head as I wrote to you yesterday. (Didn't have my
notes in front of me at that time.)
If you're just starting to research the Freeman line, I'll be more than glad
to share what info I have.
If memory serves me right, I also recall you having the names Curtis and
Curtiss in your surname index. I can help you there, too. My husband is a
direct descendant of both lines. (It was those two lines that
One of my g4grandparents were John STANTON and Huldah FREEMAN, who were
married in Preston CT on 16 August 1774. "The Descendants of Thomas
Stanton of Connecticut" gives Huldah's dates as 9 August 1757 - 31 March
1807. She died in Charlestown, Montgomery Co., NY.
I have been trying without success to find Huldah's parents. Does anyone
on the list know of her?

Beverly, did the grandson of Jackson who went to Texas go to Limestone
County, then to Van Zandt County, Texas, USA? I have a James Alexander
FREEMAN
who married in Limestone County ca. 1895, Phoebia Artie EASLEY (I have a
copy of marriage certificate). Then they moved to
Wills Point, Van Zandt, Texas, USA.
James Alexander Freeman's parents were (according to his death
certificate): William FREEMAN and Lovie FAULKENBERRY.

Hello Bob,
Appreciated your posting. One more little twig on the tree. I had no children
listed at all for Lemuel and Desire Freeman, and although they aren't my direct
line, I like to add what I can to the Freeman data base.
Thank you again,

Mary Lou,
I see that you are from Erath County TX. I know that there is a Freeman
family plot there in Bluff Dale (Rock Church and Wesley Chapel Cemeteries)
that are Freeman's not related to us. Might that be some of your kin?
My great-great grandfather was first postmaster of Bluff Dale, Erath Co. TX
(Dec 12, 1877) and is buried at Rock Church Cemetery right on the Hood
Co/Erath Co line. He was Wesley Newell Freeman (1832 GA-1891 TX); his

Another sense of humor, you're tooooo much.
Hello, Jerri,
I'm also descended from your line of Freemans. Your Experience's sister,
Mary, married a Joseph Thompson; my line continues from them.
I'd like to hear from you about our common Freemans. I'm interested in
finding out what type of people my ancestors were.
I hope to hear from you soon about this matter.
Sincerely,
