2. Re: [FTM] 2006 [1]
I guess the main thing I'm wondering about are the problems some folks have had regarding installation. I've never had any trouble with other versions, but all this talk about previous versions remaining has me confused. My files are big enough that I need them to be overwritten, not have double space taken up. Maybe (hopefully) I'm misunderstanding the problem folks are having. I'll appreciate your clarifying it for me. Thanks, Harlene ----- Original Message ----- From: To:

Have you tried using the Find Error function under Edit on a Family View page? It will search out errors and offer you the option to Ignore this type of error. It also takes you to the site of the error so you can actually see it and make your decision. I t

Possibly a better solution would be for clicking on Edit Individual to take us to the notes page instead of general. That is how it used to be. Don Firsdon.
7. Re: [FTM] Don't be Flustered, [1]
Hi Rita The born before marriage and after 20 years will show in error report no matter what you do. There are two different places to ignore errors. 1. When you have the data error report on the screen go up to contents-options and take out the checkmarks. You know you don't have dates for everything. LOL 2. when on a family page go up to tools-find error Ver 2005. If remember right it was under edit in Ver 11. Put checkmarks in both and go thru that finding errors. You can fix or i

During WWII the Red Cross sold cigarettes and other items to the soldiers in the Pacific...my husband was there...and the Salvation Army gave anything they had to the service people, for free! I have also heard that the Red Cross never did spent all the money that was given for the San Francisco Earthquake for those victims. My husband always gave to the Salvation Army. I had a neighbor whose husband was in service and I tried my best to get the Red Cross to help her to get to the local base to see about

Hi List and Brian, I trust that I am not too much off topic. Here is a sugestion of another way to backup your data. I will descibe the steps in sequence. 1. Get yourself a gmail address (these are by invitation only...it is a google email account....these accounts will let you store 2640+MB at the moment and it is increasing daily) 2. produce a gedcom file from your FTM program with the individuals that you want....save this to a known location. 3. If you have WinXP right click on the gedcom file that

I do not have these options. My options are "orientation, paper size, margins, brightness and options." Under "options" the only additional choices are "print quality, paper type and open HP toolbox." There is nothing pertaining to duplex printing. Judy in Ocala -----Original Message----- From: Ole P. This is for the person doing Jewish Research. I think that I follow what you are saying. Try this. Display a family page with the three children (as children) with no parents. Can you then attach the parents? Hi: I have a problem I just found. I have a record with husband and wife with 4 children listed. If I display the first child, it shows she has the right parents. But if I display the other 3 children, it does not show they have parents. I tried to attach the children one at a time to the proper parents. I get the following message (The individual you have chosen can not be attached as a child. click OK to clear message, then press F1 for help.) I pressed F1 but didn't find anything there to help me. 19. Numbers in Places of Birth [1]
I recently installed FTM 2006 (Windows XP) and noticed something odd. After creating a master family tree, one containing all my branches, I thought it might be wise to go through each entry and make sure nothing was wrong. Sometimes there is a number after a persons place of birth, death and marriage. For example, one entry reads Seattle, WA; 2. I am rather puzzled by this. Mark

I set up the way I want things printed in my "Printer" set up. I always have both sides printed in all my reports, family work sheets, etc. Try looking in your printer set up under preferences. On my HP 5740 its the last catagory in the set up. Judy, I think you did a very good job of explaining this I have zero problems with 2006 and I really enjoy the extra's that it does that 2005 didn't do. IMO, it is worth the small cost unless you don't have Ancestry.com or any partial version of it. Bettye
