3. Re: [FTST] Unable to install [1]
Bob - I've had similar problems. During the installation the wizard comes to a page where the installation directory is specified. If you do have space on another drive or partition, you can change the location from that screen. It can be done. You still need sufficient space on C: for temporary files that are copied/created during the installation, though, and after the installation there is a very large ".msi" file (the size of the downloaded FTST installation file) left behind in the C:\windows\inst

5. Re: [FTST] printing reports [1]
Is there a way to print (hard copy) the Master Place List? I just spent 3 hours making corrections and still found errors. I figure if I could print out the one I now have, it would make it easier if I have to re-import the dataset.... TIA Arlene

I switched my browser from MSIE to Netscape by letting Netscape switch settings for me. Mike & Richard, Many thanks for your replies. Unfortunately the outside world rudely intruded upon my FTST investigations and I am only returning today, so my apologies for not replying to you both earlier. The Exhibits Log takes me roughly 30 seconds to fire up (a LONG time subjectively and if you are trying to follow a sequence of thoughts on the screen). The images I have there often stimulate associated ideas which I would like to follow up - eg: how have I recorded X's wedding (when viewing a pictu

14. Re: [FTST] Unable to install [1]
Hi Bob, The first suite of programs I owned fit on a 176 Kilobyte floppy. I fear that those days are long gone. Most programs on CD need at least three times the program size free for installation. Since FTST is not on a CD, that means the download is taking up space also. If you have a CD-R or Zip drive, you MIGHT get FTST to install on G: drive. One factor is that your Temp folder is on C: drive. Will TMG5 be smaller? I don't see how it could be unless Bob were to write it in a different language an
15. [FTST] Surety values in FTST(error or bug) [1]
Something I've just discovered and I'm not sure whether it is a conversion error or bug. I notice that for any given parent who have children the surety value of any child changes position from position "1" to "2". In other words where I have a child X who in TMG had a relationship surety value with his parents of 2 in position 1(12DPM), the value stayed the same but changed to position 2. I hope this makes sense to someone and that they can offer an explanation. I can send up a screen shot if neccessary.
16. [FTST] Unable to install [1]
I just wanted to mention that I have been unable to install FTST because of the ridiculous requirement for 100Mb of free space on the C: drive. I'm running on a laptop and don't have that space available on my C: drive. I could make it available someplace else such as on my g: drive, but it doesn't give me that option. Mainly I'm mentioning this because I am hoping that TMG 5 will not have the same stupid requirement. Being so inflexible on where it looks for free space is something out of the dark ages of
17. [FTST] Dear Santa Claus [1]
Dear Santa Claus, What I *really* would like to have underneath my Christmas tree this year is Version 5 of TMG. But if your software developer elves are extra busy this time of year, please leave a note promising that you can deliver it near GENTECH or the NGS Conference. I understand that you and your software elves are very busy people this time of year. As a stocking stuffer, however, perhaps you can leave Version 1.2 of Family Tree SuperTools. My wish for Version 1.2 of FTST is that you extend t

19. [FTST] multiple accent color conditions [1]
I am having difficulty getting more than one accent color to appear at same time. for instance: Using the Accent Definition screen, I put dot in Accent names by ALL matching conditions. then I set the direct ancestors of first person = blue, and it works fine, Then I write the accent condition for second person such as direct ancestors of second person = green If I click Add button, it adds a blank line, If I click Insert button, it inserts the first condition again. I am unable to move the second condi

It is the same as TMG5 (not yet released) will be. It has a lot of similarities with TMG4 (the current product) but it not the same, especially with respect to the independence of the various windows. There is a downloadable slideshow demo of TMG on our site and you can see screen shots there . >I have

25. [FTST] Problem with TIMELINE FILE LOCATION [1]
I recently generated a new TIMELINE and placed the new TIMELINE in my TMG/TIMELINE subdirectory. I had already chosen (I thought) for FTST to read the TIMELINES from my TMG/TIMELINE subdirectory instead of the FTST/TIMELINE location. I found to my amazement that FTST (at least on my installation) did not even try to look in my TMG/TIMELINE subdirectory but instead would always look in the FTST/TIMELINE subdirectory no matter what I entered in the Preference section. Did I do something wrong or is this a p
