Dear List Members:
I just want to take a moment to remind you that you should never give
information on living persons in your messages without their permission
or the permission of their parents if they are children.
The most important reason for this is the right to privacy. You also
need to remember that anything you post goes into the archives of that
list and stays there. It cannot be removed but it can be copied and
added to any ones site out there in the world of the internet.

I'm trying to find out what troop they we're with. Their last name was

Hello,
I am confused and need a little help to understand what I have found. I am
researching 2 ancestors in and around Muscogee Co GA who served during the
Civil War. They were brother-in-laws (Andrew Jackson Harris and Thomas
Jefferson Ritch.).
My confusion is that the Pension Applications have them both serving in Co.
A, 6th GA Militia, but Broadfoot has them both serving in 12th (Robinsons)
Cav. (St.Guards) Co.K. In addition, Broadfoot has an A. J. Harris serving
in the Columbus City Infantry Batta

I am not sure that it complete, but it is pretty close. All of these
Pension Applications should be housed in the GA Archives, Atlanta. Franklin

The Berkeley Plantation in Charles City, Virginia is the site of the first Thanksgiving. And according to former Presidents, Berkeley is home to the country's first real Thanksgiving.
Everyone has been taught since elementary school that Thanksgiving originated with the Pilgrims in Plymouth, Massachusetts, you know, that state that's way above the Mason-Dixon line. Well not quite. The circumstances surrounding the holiday have been misinterpreted just enough to misshape the country's perception and history

I am inquiring about the following Revolutionary Solders: Are their
graves marked with government markers? These can be obtained at no cost.
Has the DAR or SAR been informed about their graves? I do not descend
from any of these men, but as a former DAR member, I think they should be
recognized by their home County. Just thought I would send a challenge
for the day.
