I went to the web site www.HistoryChannel.com and did a search
but it did not show the program as being shown again today. I'll try to
see if they show it again later in the month. If anyone else knows a
better way to find out programming, please let me know :-)

Paula,
THANK YOU so much for sharing the photo with all of us :-) All of
you looked like you were having fun and that food.....makes my mouth water
just thinking about how great it must have tasted :-)
I think it's wonderful that some of you were able to gather in
Savannah and finally meet in person. Maybe the next time, more of us will
plan on attending.
While I'm on my 'soap box', let me thank you Paula for all your
hard work on the Chatham County web page. You, and thos
Good afternoon,
Here is another place to post your Chatham County surnames. The more visible they are the more likely you are to find new cousins and maybe the ancestors needed to break down your brickwall. Come list your surnames for others to find.

Hello Friends,
By no means am I caught up and I really don't want to be because that would mean no one was sending me anything to post but I have made quite a few updates in the last ten days. I don't remember announcing this {but if I have already please overlook my feeble mindedness} but we have Douglas Cemetery online and some few additions to some of the other cemeteries.
I have also added new surnames and marriages {and no Bob, I don't have all of yours on there yet, just a few, but I am working on t
Data from the Savannah City Directory for 1928 shows Benjamin F. CARTER
living at 530 E. Bolton Street with his wife listed as Norma L. He is also
shown as being a Fireman with the City of Savannah, Station #2.
Would appreciate any information on this family and descendants as I believe
this Benjamin is the brother to my great-grandfather Robert CARTER.

Carol,
I went to the more extensive site located at
http://www.historychannel.com/ontv/index.html and the show does not
appear anytime during the remainder or the month. However, if any of you
are interested in true crimes, etc., there are several programs being shown
during the month. There is even a Genealogy.com special on a couple of
times later in the month.

The Tybee Lighthouse will soon be visible all over the United States, at

Or, send a note to the list mom (Nancy Parr) at:

Is that right Nancy? Of course, Nancy monitors this list pretty good, so
she might have caught this message already.
Only 3 more weeks till my next trip to Savannah. Be there for Thanksgiving

Does anyone know the email address of Mr. Terry Shaw? Is he still the Chairperson in charge of the Bonaventure Society? Does anyone have any info. on the club, group or organization?
Having many ancestors buried there I am very interested in joining.

Hi,
I have a handful of relatives buried at both cemeteries. I live on the west
coast and have been unable (at least so far) to go to Savannah. Does anyone
know of some useful transcriptions for those cemeteries?
Forgive me if this is a topic that's already been discussed.

Hi Latrell,
No John Tye either. There is a John B. Ferguson in the 1928 but his wife is
Mary.
I have copies of the white directories, they were seperate during that time.
If I back up to 1908 I see a John c. h 516 Congress, a John c. works C. of
Ga. r 512 gaston, and a John c. (Susan) butler 321 Abercorn. The John B. is

that I don't have every year. I go from 1921 to 1926 then 1928 then 1934.
Before that I have 1898 to 1909.
Maybe the county origin offered at this site will help.

Bob,
My GG Grandfather was a Fireman also from 1890-1925?. Ayways, when I was looking for info. on him, I came across a book that was published by the Savannah Fire Dept. listing the history of the fire dept., it's current and past members. They have many pictures of the men who worked their. It is very detailed and informative about the men and their jobs. I found this book at the Main Library on Bull St. If you get a chance call them and ask them about it. I have the name written down somewher
Hi Caroline,
You don't say which census and where you are located.
I think most big cities have copies at the public library of census film.
That's half the fun, scanning the census records. I live in Miami Fl, and our
