By now you may already have what you are looking for, but I just ran across an abstract of Hampton David Martin's death certificate here on Ancestry. He died 20 Jun 1981 in Greenville, Pitt Co, NC. He was born 12 Mar 1923 in Georgia. He is buried in North Carolina. Guess I would start checking in Greenville.

Bill, thanks for responding to my message. It appears that we are, indeed, distant cousins. Ever since I was bitten by the genealogy bug five or six years ago, I have been researching my Riley ancestors. I have traced them back to 1754 at which time my gg, etc. grandfather owned land in the backcountry of South Carolin
