I live in Fayette Co., Ala. and know several Bakers who live here also. Some of them have intermarried with my family. You do have a very large mistake in your post saying there was a marriage here in Fayette Co., Al. in 1765. Alabama was a part of Georgia at that tiome and didn't become a state untill around 1815.

Your GGgrandfather, Edward Conner Stephens, was the brother of my
Greatgrandmother, Sarah Tommie Stephens. I'm still digging around into
all the information that I can find. I feel that somehow Daniel Conner
is kin to Edward. I think that maybe as his father or at lease an
uncle. Edward was born in 1793. Daniel was commissioned Dec. 31, 1801
as the first Coroner for Clarke Co., GA, when it was created Dec.5, 1801.
Do you have any information that you can share with me concerning the
Conner family
Hi my Lucy Matthews (Mathis) (Mathews) is linked to Brawner, Martin (maiden
name), Huff, Kinnebrew. Apparently she married three different times, each
time to a Mathews, Mathis, and Matthews. Unfortunately, I don't know the first
name of either of the husbands. Thanks for checking. She was the daughter of
Lizzie Brawner Martin and Johnnie Lee Martin.

Thanks for posting this. I am researching Burger and had wondered if I was
misreading in the census and the transcriptions that people are preparing
that they had left off part of the name. This post was proof that both
names exist.

Thomas Golliher Jr. and Thomas Golliher, Sr. were in Wilkes Co. GA for the land lottery in 1805. They, along with other Gollihers, drew blanks, and moved on to Kentucky. Benjamin Austin Gollaher, eldest son of Thomas Jr., was born in 1806 in Georgia, according to the census.
However, I have never been able to find a marriage record for Thomas Golliher/Gollaher and wife Judith, nor can I back them out of Georgia, IF the ones in Wilkes Co. were indeed my Kentucky Gollahers.

Tanya, I am not real sure but I think M. E. Church South is/was
Methodist Episcopal Church South. I attended a Methodist Church when I
was growing up and if my memory is correct, it was at one time called by
that name. Hildred
