He definitely died in or near Grundy Co TN. That is a long way from Harlan. I checked the UT library and have someone contacting the TN Mining Museum. But I was hoping someone on this list might know of a local source, since Grundy is so close to Dade Co. I am writing for James Murphy (71 and living in TX). He is looking for the following: His great grandfather, William Carroll Nunley (b. 1829) died in a mining disaster in or near Grundy Co TN about 1870.
