Does anyone know of this person or, how he connects with the rest of the clan?

Please accept my apologies for mis-leading you about James and Elizabeth
from Yadkin County, N.C. This Elizabeth was 70 and her son Lewis was 40
years old in 1850. This James and Elizabeth were not the James and
Elizabeth married in 1807 in Rowan County, N. C.

Information received from Cleo Roberts, now deceased:
William A. Gadberry had a son G. Robert Gadberry whose wife's name was
Grace and they had two daughters.
Cleo Roberts got his information from Lemuel Gadberry who descends from
Isaac Gadberry, and has Isaac's bible from Isaac's 1st marriage to Susannah
Cady.
William A. Gadberry has the bible from Isaac's 2nd marriage to Betsy
Ernestine Courtney.
This information is at least 20 years old, and we have not verified it.

Dick, I should add that if able you might check the 1870 census because you
might find the husband, Salener and a 3 year old Roscoe. The husband must
still be alive in 1870 because she had those girls in 1872! That could
really be a clue!
I added your find as follows:

Joy,
Thanks a bunch. I visited the web site and pulled some info. I'll read
the info and see if it appears reasonable?
On the Gadberry Census www.neteze.com/gadberry/database/census.htm
Elizabeth Gadberry (wife of James Gadberry) is listed as living with her
son-in-law John Elliott (Ellit) and her daughter Elizabeth in 1860 Cumberland County
Illinois. It was recently pointed out to me that this family was infact listed
on the 1860 Oregon County, Jobe Twp., Missouri census and not anywhere on the
1860 Cumberland County census. Also living in Oregon County in 1860 were
other Gadberry children, Isaac, Harvey, and
I have in my records the following information on James Lewis Gadberry.
Born 1783.
Died 1839.
An application for a marriage license to Elizabeth Elliott was made the
27th August, 1807. I have a copy of this application, so I know this date
is correct., I don't have documentation on his middle name and dates of
birth and death, but I know I obtained this information in Yadkinville,
North Carolina.
James and Elizabeth had 2 children, Sarah and Lewis. I previously wrote the
story on Sarah, but I mistakenly c

I found the above listed with lots of information at the Orell Family data
base. I found it by Googling Selena Gadberry. It's the first one and she is
listed by her maiden name Selena Jenkins. I couldn't figure out the website
address to list it here for you.
Hope this helps,
Joy

Roy:
Don't know how he connects, but he was a longtime director of the American
Cancer Society. He is one of a many listed under "Officers and Executives."
Other documents show he was active in the mid-1980s.

Officers and Executives:

Sorry to have caused the confusion about Lewis. I did find my records and
will somewhat compile and forward them
this week.
I was mistaken about his sister. Her name was Sarah and Jane was her
daughter.
Lewis's father was James Lewis Gadberry and Lewis was married.
