Hi Everyone,
I am forwarding this message to the list for everyone's information.
The GenConnect Boards on Rootsweb have been moved over to MYFAMILY.COM.
Due to this change, there are several isssues that have come up that you
(the researcher, and poster) need to be aware of. First, MyFamily.Com has
put a copyright on all the postings that have already been submitted.
I would suggest for the time being that NO ONE post anything to these new
boards until clarification can be made on this.
I will start
Hi Everyone,
Over the past several days, more and more emails have been flying about all
of this. Due to those emails, some clarification has come about.
1. Ancestry / MyFamily.com - HAS NOT copyrighted the information that has
been posted by researcher's. What they have done if copyrighted the format
in which it has been presented.
2. Ancestry / MyFamily.com - HAS NOT stolen anything and have said that
they will not use the information posted for profit. Meaning that they
will not take the info
This is very enlightening. I've searched endlessly on what could have
killed my ggUncle at an early age, leaving his children to be in custody
of their Uncle.
I have never been able to find any burial info, no gravesites,
etc. His probate was carried out in Decatur Co-GA.
When I saw your post-- re: the above,
'a- light- went- on'.....just maybe this was it.
I'll check to see if there's a mortality census for those years you give
and if his name is there.
Who knows how a person will he
I've heard there was a Cholera Epidemic which hit SW GA,
particularly Baker & Decatur Counties., in the 1870's.
Is this true or is this a myth? I've gone into "search' mode and
haven't been able to find anything at all concerning this.
Thank U.

Hi list,
Are there any CD's or Books I can buy for Decatur Co that have deed indexes,
deed records, probate court minutes and records, wills, estate papers, such
as administrators and guardian letters, and especially appraisements
If anyone knows of such a product and where I can purchase it, let me know.
PS. Does anyone have a map with the name of farm owners on it. The GDAH has
such a map and the are unable to copy it right now. I was hoping maybe some
else has seen a copy of this map somewhere else
Does anyone remember the approximate dates of the Cholera Epidemic that
struck S.W. Georgia sometime in the 1870s?
Especially Decatur and Baker Counties.
Thanks

I need some help this time. My GGGgrandfather Robert Parker married Sarah Armstrong in Henry Co. Al. in 1836.....So naturally I am interested in these Roberts. Especially since I have the proverbial brick wall at just his name and no parents and siblings.....
Will someone tell me who these Robert's are? Who their parents or siblings were?????
Thanks, Winnette
Robert Parker and Martha Brock married 12-27-1840 in Decatur Co. Ga.
Robert Parker and Mary Blansett married 10-29-1847 in Decatur Co. Ga.
I am posting this message from the Robeson Co., NC list because of the
connections many early Decatur and Grady Co. families had with that area of
NC. I would especially love to see information on Elder William Hawthorn
submitted by his descendants. My Bodifords are said to have migrated with
Elder Hawthorn into SW Georgia in the early 1800's.
