Here is a note sent to me on a local list by Mark Howells (the husband of Cyndi Howells of "Cyndi's List" and a VERY active internet genealogist in his own right) re: Kindred Konnections, an internet-based company that has been sending out spam (unsolicited advertising or junk e-mail) about their genealogical services. I am from Albany and have the Hill side almost "complete" but have very little on my grandmother's family. She was a Wallace and some of the family is still in the area. 21. RE: [GADOUGHE] Help locating a spring.... [1]
Radium Springs is an historical spot in Albany, GA. During the 20 years that I have lived here, various efforts (restaurant, private club) have been made to maintain the building which was originally a casino and quite fine in its day. It is still beautiful; but, because of its location, it frequently floods. So far as I know, it is no longer used. A photographer friend of mine has gorgeous framed photographs of this site. These are for sale at very reasonable prices. I can put you in touch if you ar
22. Re: [GADOUGHE] 1850 Baker County Census is online! [1]
Mary Kathryn, Thanks for all of your hard work. I know that census was a bear to work with and I, as you know, have lots of relatives in and around that area also. Additionally, there are numerous other families that I am tracking as well. Hope you and the family are doing well and that your torrid schedule has slowed down a little so "you can smell the flowers." Take care and thanks again for all your dedication and hard work. HI MARY, AS I AM ALSO A MARY, WE CAN HAVE A LITTLE FUN WITH BEING MARY MARY. CECIL, MY HUSBAND HAS A LOT OF "STUFF" ON THE SHRIVER'S AS THEY HAVE MARRIED INTO THE RAMSEY'S FOR A LONG TIME. I TRULY THINK IF ONE HAS BEEN IN THIS COUNTRY FOR SEVERAL GENERATIONS, ONE BECOMES RELATED TO JUST ABOUT EVERYONE THROUGH BLOOD OR MARRIAGE. IT IS SO INTERESTING, ALEXANDER AND RACHAEL TRULY STARTED SOMETHING WITH THEIR 10 CHILDREN. AS A ADDED NOTE OF INTEREST, WHEN ALEXANDER SOLD THE HOMESTEAD IN AMERICUS IN 1859, H

25. Re: [GADOUGHE] Help locating a spring.... [1]
You guys are AWESOME! :-) I should have remembered that place. We visited there when I was a young girl with my great-grandmother Shiver. Sandra if you can send me the information about the photographer, I'm sure this gentleman will want to know about that. Also, if anyone knows of a published history about Radium Springs, I'm sure he would be interested in that as well. Thanks so much Francis, Sam and Sandra for responding so quickly! :-) Mary Kathryn "Sacco, Sandra" wrote: > Radium Springs is an hist
