Hello to the list:
WAnted to tell any new subscribers to take a look at my books on these
N.E. Ga. Counties: Franklin, Stephens, Habersham, Rabun, White, and
Banks Counties in my series of THESE MEN WORE GREY. It is a compilation
of the entire Confederate Records for each county which includes Burial
records, genealogical records, muster rolls, pensions, salt records,
militia, and various other records for each county.
In the future Elbert Co. will be among them. Just got to have time to

Frances,
I belive the proof will be in school records that have been recently found
in the Elbert Co. GA Courthouse basement. I remember briefly reading in an
issue of the Savannah River Valley Genealogical Society SRVGS newsletter, in an article, ( I have

Hope,
Sorry it took so long to get back to you. The information that I have
is that:
1) Simeon Henderson, married Bridgett Carroll Heard, with a child
William H. Crawford Henderson
2) Elbert Hartwell Thompson, married Martha Scott, with a child
Sarah F. Thompson
3) William H. Crawford Henderson, married Sarah F. Thompson
That would make Bridgett Carroll Heard, an in-law to Elbert Hartwell
Thompson not his wife. I have a copy of the marriage certificate for
Bridgett and Simeon.

William ALSTON (b. 25 Dec 1736) the son of Solomon and Nancy Alston, was
married to his cousin, Charity Alston, daughter of James and Christian
Alston. They settled in Elbert Co., GA where William Alston died in 1810.
His widow died in 1823. They had the following children: Ann, Christian,
Mary, Sarah, Elizabeth,
George, Solomon, William, Peter, and James. I am interested in learning more
about these children, their marriages, etc. Your response is appreciated.
Thank you.
