If I may add to Brenda's e-mail, I would also suggest contacting the Atlanta History Center at:
for it seems to me they should be able to aide as well, this is also where the Atlanta Historical Society is located (same number).
I live in Atlanta & it is shameful how our city & its leaders (& many people) let our history get torn down each & every day! If it were not for the Tullie Smith house being at the Atlanta History Center, gosh knows my Third Great Grandfather Robert Hiram Smith (& Eliza

Anyone ever hear of Montglade in Fulton County near Copenhill where Jimmy
Carter Center is today. Supposedly very scenic with natural springs. It was on
the Fulton County Street Railway car line also known as Nine Mile Circle.

I live in Southern California, and no, I have not ever been to Welcome All. Evelyn Elizabeth (Harris) Miller Nixon was married to a distant cousin of my husband's Nixon line. I have spent the past 10 years trying to put them back together -- from 3000 miles west. I finally figured out this past weekend how she connected, though I had her burial record, SS # application, & death certificate in my files for several years. So, no I do not know any useful family connections. I was hoping my po
As I was going to take photos of the Shadnor Baptist Church Cemetery I saw another cemetery behind the church, across the rail road tracks at Flat Shoals and Goodson Rd.
Does anyone know the name of this cemetery?
Or is it an extention of Shador Cemetery? It appears to be seperate.
Roy,
City directories are available for Atlanta beginning in 1859. Here are the
available years for the early period:
1859, 1867, 1870, 1871, 1872, 1874, 1875, 1876, 1877, 1878, 1879, 1880,
1881, 1882, 1883, 1884, 1885, 1889, 1890
There are originals at the Atlanta History Center, and I believe at the main
Atlanta-Fulton County Public Library. They are also on microfilm. I do not
think that LDS has all the years on microfilm, although Duke University does
have them on film and fiche.
Hope this helps.
P
HI,
I volunteered to do Fulton County for SAVING GRAVES.
Please visit and help me complete the cemetery listing, I am sure that some cemeteries were not included. I can think of one in Hapeville that I don't know the name of.
Visit here and please let me know.

That helps greatly.
Now I know where to look when I can get to Atlanta and that
the directories are available.
Thank you for the information.

I am trying to locate a Ann Rusk Shadwell. I found postings on the Gen Forum but they were from 1999. Her postings show that we are related.
Her grandparents were Watt Patrick Kelly and Eva Lee Hawkins. VA/FL/GA
Her mother Evelyn R. Kelly Rusk is the sister of my grandfather Lester A. Kelly.
Siblings were Flossie, Eva, Evelyn, Watt Jr. Sarah.
If anyone knows ANN RUSK SHADWELL or her whereabouts, please notify me. I do not know what her age would be today but I am surmi
Hello fellow researchers.
Can anyone tell me if there are city directories for
Atlanta for the years 1875 - 1880? I'm trying to find an
ancestor who I've recently learned may have been in Atlanta
during those years before winding up in Florida in 1880.

Please see the April issue of Atlanta INtown newspaper if you are interested
in what has been happening with NPUB. the Peachtree Condominium Association,
and the Randolph-Lucas House. I have been following it very closely since
