Vicky, I read somewhere that the state of Georgia conducted censuses during the Civil War. They were of males of military age. This is the first one I have ever seen! Where can we check for the censuses for other counties? I am sure there are many others that could use this in their Georgia genealogical research. I am trying to help a friend find a family cemetery. Does anyone know where the Eubanks Cemetery in Hall County is located? Tombstone Inscriptions of Hall County only list the following info. "On Farm of Ernest Nix Hwy 284 about 1 mile from Clermont GA. Original homeplace of Eubanks." I would appreciate any help , Thanks! Vicky

Seeking biographical information on Mathew/Matthew Fleming Stephenson, b ca 1802 VA, and his son-in-law, Dr. John Wills, b ca 1819 PA or MD. They were Masons and lodge brothers at Dahlonega, Lumpkin County, in 1854, and both eventually moved to Gainesville, Hall County. Stephenson was assayer at the Dahlonega Branch Mint from around 1850-1855. Reportedly, in Mark Twain's book "The Gilded Age", he is credited as the originator of the phrase "Thar's gold in them thar hills". Wills married Susan A. Stephens

Margaret Martin, a widow with 3 children, was in Hall Co., GA, in mid 1820s and in 1830 census, does anyone know who she was connected to there?
