Hello, Searching for my GGG Johnson Braxton Galey born 1821 in possibly NC and died 1862 in Grenada Co, MS during the Civil War. Some records indicate he was called 'John'. He lived in Carroll Co with his wife Nancy Cooley (1819-1891) and known children Rebecca, Mary, James Matson. Death certs of children James & Mary state that Johnson was born in NC. He is listed on the 1850 & 1860 MS census only. Possibly went to MS prior to 1850 from NC. Is there any Galey or Gailey families out there with a son n

I've recently found my Johnson B. Galey (Gailey) who died in Carroll Co, MS was married in Tuscaloosa Co, AL in 1841. I did not find any Gaileys there but there are quite a few in Lawrence Co, AL named: Moses, Jeptha, Jabey, John W., John P. Dandridge. Does anyone have any of those Gailey/Galeys?
