The March 21, 2006 issue of the Lamar County Herald Gazette features a story on the present day Fredonia Congregational Church. Of particular interest was the following: "Fredonia Congregational Church, which was founded in 1852 and built on land donated by Jackson G. Bush, is still attended today by his descendents and those of other charter members W.H. Bankston, J.L. Casten, Anderson Means, Glen Owen, Wright Stocks, W.W. Moye and Rev Absalom Ogletree, among others whose names have been lost to history."
