I am back from vacation. It is quiet out there. My maiden name is Garrett. My gg-grandparents and also their oldest son and wife were married in Lumpkin County. My gg-grandparents are William Riley GARRETT and Rebecca Jane WATERS, they were married in Lumpkin County on Dec 02, 1856. Wm. Riley's parents are William Martin GARRETT and Jennie JUSTICE. I think Rebecca's parents are John Stewart WATERS and Molly [last name could be LUNSFORD]. Wm. Riley and Rebecca had 3 sons: William Lewis, John an

Sandy, my daughter is married to a WATERS whose ancestors came from Dahlonega, Lumpkin Co. Tracing the Waters family is quite a challenge!! There seems to be a lot of them. I have gotten so far and not any farther. Rebecca Jane sounds familiar, but there are a lot of Waters with the same name.. Garrett doesn't sound familiar, but I will go through my notes and see if I come up with anything. My Waters family finally went west to Indian Territory, Oklahoma

Hello,
Would someone please tell me if Soule's Chapel
Cemetery, Lumpkin Co. is the same as the one listed on
the Lumpkin County genweb page.
My second question is if there are other records of
burials available other than the reading that is
online. Someone has indicated an ancestor burial
there, however, the name of the individual is not
among those shown on the online database.
I appreciate the help, thanks!

Hello
I have been posting often, wanting to know about the Crane/ Corn reunion in
Lumpkin County. I want to thank Pat on the list for all her help.
I am putting the date on here in case there are others that want to know. It
is the last Sunday in August, at Mill Creek Church in Lumpkin Co... GA
It is mainly a Crane reunion but the Corns and the Cranes are related.
Thank you so much, all that tried to help.
