One of my favorite Garrison g?great-aunts died in 1830-1840 in Ohio in her early thirties in (I think) Butler county. Engraved on her tombstone, in German, is this inscription: REMEMBER YOUTH AS YOU PASS BY WHAT YOU ARE NOW ONCE WAS I WHAT I AM NOW YOU SHALL BE PREPARE FOR DEATH AND FOLLOW ME What a classy tombstone.
