Zou,
in the post from Daniel Huerta, the early Texas Garrison
marriages, your ancestor is posted with the initials S.J.
I know her name as Susan Webb Menefee, can you tell me what
the J. stands for?
Thanks!

I am looking for a birth place of Martha Garrison who married
Frederick Wanstreet.
She may have been related to a Roscoe Garrison from Rockingham County,
Virginia.
There is also another Garrison, Romeo Garrison, who is either a cousin
or brother to Roscoe Garrison.
Rosco Garrison went to Idaho, I believe and later to near Troy Montana
where he died.
But my main search right now is the birthplace of Martha Garrison
Thank you sincerely

Folks,
I was asked to mention the following so I will:
Yes, there are NASTY viruses out there for PC users (I use a Mac and am not
usually affected). These viruses, like Melissa, and this newest one, are
receiving major media coverage on both radio and TV. There are also
computer cable channels, newsgroups, mailing lists and web sites devoted to
the subject so there are many places to receive information and stay up to
date.
We will NOT discuss them on the lists.

One of my favorite Garrison g?great-aunts died in 1830-1840 in Ohio in her
early thirties in (I think) Butler county.
Engraved on her tombstone, in German, is this inscription:
REMEMBER YOUTH AS YOU PASS BY
WHAT YOU ARE NOW ONCE WAS I
WHAT I AM NOW YOU SHALL BE
PREPARE FOR DEATH
AND FOLLOW ME
What a classy tombstone.
I may borrow that inscription myself, when the time comes. Either that, or
maybe the modern version:
SEE
I TOLD YOU I WAS SICK

I thought this newspaper clipping from 105 years ago today
might be of interest to some on the list. I believe the person
it refers to is Alfred "Tom" Garrison born March 9, 1827 in
Hawkins County, TN and died Dec. 24, 1920 in Camden County, MO
(Married Elizabeth Thompson June 12, 1848). There's a photograph
hanging in the Camden County Museum in Linn Creek, MO of
A. "Tom" Garrison sitting on his mule.
