I have two GARRISONS in my line that as far as I know are not connected, My
grandfather Samuel T. Shaw b1882 married Leonora GARRISON b1885 I do not have
a date or place for the marriage but feel certain that it was around 1906 or
1907 since there first child was born in February 1907 it may have been in
Cumberland County, NJ since both were from that area. My Grandmothers father
was Stephen L. GARRISON of Bridgeton. NJ and her mother Emma Jane SWING of
Shirley, NJ.

In a Roots Web list to track down a Garrison ancestor, beside where I

Stumbled across a lone Garrison while doing some research on my GUY and JORDAN lines. Another researcher has supplied this information:
Jesse Lawrence GARRISON b. 1935 m. Margurette Elizabeth JORDAN. I don't want to pry into anyone's line who is currently living; but if someone out there is interested in this line, I have lots of JORDAN info on the wife.

Lissa,
I would be very interested if Jesse's father was either Earl R. b.Dec
1894 or Harold b. May 1897; also if grandfather was Wm. Garrison b. Iowa
about Dec 1878. Thanks, Keith Johnson

"Hi Lissa,
Will share what I have received from others. Good to share with you!
There is a F. M. Garrison buried in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery at Plumerville, AR. He was born March 14, 1853 and died Dec. 17, 1917.
Also, on the 1900 census of Conway Co. AR in Howard township there is a Frank M. Garrison born March of 1851. He has a wife Asula, 45, children
Susie 15, Alvia L. 12, Oma 7, Burlie 3.
In the same cemetery is buried Caleb Garrison and his son James Fr

Rootsweb have given the mailing lists the ability to "gateway" to the
GenConnect boards - ie. when a message is posted to a GenConnect
board, the message can also automatically be posted to the
corresponding mailing list.
I think it's a good thing - it will give us more access to
researchers who aren't subbed to the mailing lists however it will
add some traffic to the lists (which is probably a good thing, too).

wonder why no one has ever heard of a Pleasant Garrison. I know the guy
couldn't have been a lone ranger with no relatives but I have searched
everwhere to find where he lived. He married a Martha? we think but at least
her last name was Youngblood as she was married to Wm Johnson YB first and
had 3 kids then married Pleasant. I am sure she would have married him in
AR. as that is where she lived at divorce time . abt. 1850 or up. I am
trying to find where they lived and what their children 's name
Hi all you GARRISONs,
Recently, I posted an inquiry as to, Isaac GARRISON,
b.1732-d.1836 said to be SAR, buried near Ozark Mo.
with DAR plaque. Can someone tell me his relationship
to the GARRETSONs? I received a response from one
"lister" only.
Is my GGGG Grandfather Isaac SAR fraudulent?

Does anyone know the genealogy of a
George Washington Garrison.
He may have lived in Rockingham County before coming to the Auburn
area, Ritchie County area, but I have looked all over the state and
cannot find a George Washington Garrison that would fit.
I have submitted to Garrison list before, but I will cc this to the
Garrison list again with hopes.
Other people that are connected to George Washington Garrison may be
Lewis Garrison, Sherman Garrison, Martha J. Garrison (b. 1866 m. to
Frederick Richa
Can anyone identify Elizabeth GARISON, age 60, found on page 401 of the
Carroll County, TN, 1870 census?? She is close by to a Shim COOK, and a
number of HAWKINS families; this make me think she is related to the family
of Caleb GARRISON of the Pendleton District of SC.....
Here's hoping. Zou Feagin Zfeagin@aol.com
Folks,
Discussions regarding the US Census are popping up on many lists with
sometimes lengthy threads.
Often, the Census, while important and interesting, is not relevant

I was so thoughtless when I wrote to Ritchie Countie list and then at
the last minute I added my posting to the Garrison list without a
thought that I should have said that the state was
WEST VIRGINIA.
George Washington Garrison from West Virginia
It could be in West Virginia
Ritchie County or
Rockingham County
My apologies to all who were concerned enough to even write and ask me
what state.
Dee.
I have Garrison relations in Ritchie Co., WV that are from Greene Co.,
PA, and could not possibly be related to these Rockingham Co., VA
Garrisons. I've researched my Garrisons pretty carefully, and have had to
learn a little bit about the unrelated Garrisons in order to weed them
out.
Some stuff that may be helpful:
George Garrison, aged 26, born in Rockingham Co., VA to Lewis & Elizabeth
Garrison, married on 25 November 1855, in Ritchie Co., (W)VA, Emily
Pritchard, aged 27, born in Harrison Co., (W)VA
This was past on to me today and I thought I would do the same, pass it on.
Louise
The following letter was forwarded to me via one of my genealogy lists. If
any
of you had ancestors living in the USA in 1890, you might consider submitting
your information to this project. Copies will be submitted to the Library of
Congress and the LDS FHL.
Thanks,

As you know, 99% of the 1890 census was destroyed by fire. There is a project
to publish a book listing all U.S. residents
I received this from another list this morning and thought I'd pass it along,
maybe it will be of some help to some of you.
Good luck,
Louise
