Has anyone ever heard of a Salem Church in Taylor Co.? I have a mention of a Barfield being buried at Salem Church and the other information leads me to believe it might be in Taylor Co. According to what two researchers have given me.. Viola was married to two different Robert E. Hill's Robert E. son of William Wesley born 1821- was born 1857 (His Parents Rebecca Ham and WW married 1852 Taylor) Robert Elbert Lee born 1874 child of Hamilton Henry & Mary A.J....(HH born 1842 married 1865) If Robert Elbert Lee married her in 1891- He would have only been 17 years old-not too common for marriages back then. Wesley Hill never had a son named Robert E. Hill. He did have a son named Ralbert Arthur Hill who was born September 1, 1856. If you look at the census data for Taylor and Schley counties for Wesley, it will bear this out. Viola Turner's obit states she married Robert E. Hill 52 years ago. The obit was dated September 25, 1942. If you do the math, that takes you to 1891 when he was 17 and she was 16. That doesn't leave much room for another marriage beforehand.
