Dear Tamie Harding,
Are you aware that there is a Higdon Family Association that meets in
various places around the country once a year? I have a very good elderly
friend in Copperhill, TN who is in poor health now and can't attend (she
will be 94 if she lives until August), whose husband was Walter Q. Higdon of
Copperhill, TN. Mr. Walter died in 1963, I believe it was. HIs wife,
Rachel McKey Higdon and I used to teach together at West Fannin High School
in Blue Ridge. We also worked together in church
Thank you, Rose and Nikki.
You are fantastic.

The way the Wetzel name was spelled in Fannin County was Witzel. Apppearing in the 1860 Fannin County, GA census (Fannin County was formed in 1854 out of Unio

a RWS. One of my cousins has been able to prove his line back to him, and has
been accepted into SARS. This cousins sister has applied to the DARS and
will probably be accepted soon.
Jacob WETZEL was born about 1751, I kinow not where, but he showed up in
Lincoln Co., NC quite a while before the ARW.
He married a Margaret Summey, dau of Peter Summ
I seek to make contact with anyone, telephone or postal address will do just fine, who is descended from or knows someone descended from: Jessie Deaver 1897-1975, Henry Deaver 1903-1946, or Wayne Deaver 1911-1963.
Jessie Deaver was married to Ardilla UNK and is buried in the Liberty Cemetery in Union Co.
Henry Deaver was married to Julia Deyton and is buried in Liberty.
I do not know if Wayne was ever married.
These three brothers had another brother named Dewey who died at age 20. He was briefly
looking for information on the following BATES family - am trying to show yes or no does he belong to my BATES line.

I found the following marriage for a Higdon:

It was listed in the Whitfield County, Ga. marriage Book A. Didn't find
anything else.
