1. HEPPENHEIM Ortsippenbuch [1]
I know that there have been two Ortsippenbuchs published for Heppenheim and the surrounding villages. I have been told that the first volume is being reprinted and a new third volume is being printed sometime this year. Does anyone know if these books are for sale yet, and if so, where. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

The more recent volumes of Germans to America cover more recent years. In particular, the volumes covering 1857 to 1860, volumes 10 through 13, were published in 1990 and 1991. So if you looked a couple years ago, you found what there was to be found. Perhaps you should try the Hamburg passenger lists

I don't see an answer here, so I will take the liberty of responding. Just as it sounds - those who have wandered out, Emigrants who have left the country, immigrated elsewhere. Bill Peretti California

5. Delbr|ck - Tegethof 1830-1870 [1]
Hello, I am trying to find the records dealing with the Tegethof in Delbr|ck. The Tegethof records were mentioned in an old 1926 book called "the Non State Archives in the Westfalen Archives", but I can't seem to find which archive they are kept in. They may be in some archive, or perhaps in a third parties hands. Landrat Franz Ludwig Grasso was the owner of the Tegethof from 1830-1865. These records contain information of the the people working on the Tegethof for Landrat Grasso, one of which was my gre

15. Re: Memorial Web Park [1]
I can't believe it! These guys have found a way to replicate the feel of all those county histories of years gone by, minus the county history. For a fee you get to post a biography, and I'll bet a photo costs extra. A minor question: how in the world are those seeking the (relatively brief) information in these obituaries going to find it? For a county history you go to the library. Brendan Dennis Sheridan (digitall@mindspring.com) writes: > This is a multi-part message in MIME format. > ------------
16. Re: Baden [1]
I am not an authority on the subject, however, Baden was a Grand Duchy prior to its joining with Wurtemberg. This, and other Duchys, Principalities etc., were collectively refered to as Germany even while they were autonomous states. After Napoleaon, the German states were organized under Prussia. A person from Baden was frequently refered to as being from Germany before the German state was established, and even while under the authority of Prussia. It can be rather confusing, but the bottom line is that

Where can I find passenger lists of ships that sailed from Hamburg to Canada. I'm not sure of the exact year, only approximate. I'm also not sure of the exact destination in Canada. I would like to know if anyone has any info on the Gieseke's. I find it really interesting that a male took on the surname of a female. JHess
