In some cases, records of the catholic church can help when official records are lost. Have you ever tried with the "Diochse de Lyon"? If not, tell me and I will check their address, which I do not have right now. I would then let you know it. Regards Michel Hirsig

12. Re: Research in Quebec [1]
Hi Paul, You could also do your genealogy at the Montreal Public Library. Address is Bibliotecque Centrale 1210 rue Sherbrooke Est, Montreal,Que; H2L 1L9 "La Salle Gagnon" They have a very large genealogical section at this library so if you can't find your information there I would be very surprised. For their hours of operation you should look on the web. http://www.ville.montreal.qc.ca/biblio/info/biblio04.htm Diana

15. Going to France for Research [1]
I will have an opportunity to spend a day or two doing genealogy research in Lorrain region. My direct line is through Quebec and I was able to trace my immigrant ancestor to a village named Romagne-sous-Montfaucon in Meuse. I ordered the microfilm from LDS for Romagne and I found his baptism, as well as the names of his parents. But, looking farther back into the film, I could not find the marriage record for his parents. I assume the parents were married in another parish. I have several questions:
