Tom, I have searched civil records for Carlantino in Foggia Province from about 1860 to 1890. My search was extensive and I got to know about every family name in the town. I did not come acrossany Di Persio's or Serra's. This eliminates only one town out of many in the province. Alan Tullio, Inwood, New York

Dear Mary, By now you've seen how willing the Italian genealogy newsgroup people are to help. I've been to Fondi, Provincia di Latina. My own father was born nearby, in a town that was called Monticello di Fondi and is now Monte San Biagio. I know the region well enough (after six visits) to tell you some basic things. If you have specific questions, I may be able to answer them. Are they any Tullios, Ciminos or Cardinales in your family tree? These names are common to the region. Best regards, Ala

Could someone be so kind as to trasnlate this for me? I tried the translation site on the net, but it comes out all cockywobble: Vi auguro il la cosa migliore di fortuna. La buoa fortuna di maggio e la vostra guida. HELLO Johanna, I understand that a proper translation is hard, because the sentence is wrong. You can not say "vi auguro il la migliore di fortuna", that is wrong. What someone tried to say was "Vi aguro molta fortuna (migliore meaning best, better compared to buono - good). fortuna is luck,
