3. Maud de Lacy (early 1200s) [1]
Regarding Maud de Lacy : Weis' "Ancestral Roots . . ." (63A:28) is the source for her marriage to William de Braose. (29A:28) for her marriage to Walter de Clifford. (54:29) mentions a Maud de Clare as wife of ROGER DE LACY and mother JOHN DE LACY, who was created Earl of Lincoln in 1232. Have no verification that this is the same Maud. I cannot recall how identified her as the Maud de Clare who m. Roger de Lacy. While trying to verify this marrige, the sources I have checked so far merely identify her

Is ther some reason you are posting these kinds of messages to the medieval genealogy newsgroup? It certainly seems off topic to me. I'm sure that there are more appropriate newsgroups for posting such items in future. 14. King Coel "old king cole" [1]
Hi. I've been talking with a person who is interetsted in tying Old King Cole who was really King Coel of Scotland? to the Planatagenet line. The title of the book is "Folk Hereos of Britian" by Charles Knightly published by THames and Hudson Ltd., London. She's interested in this at a historical view, not genealogy, but I'm interested in the genealogical aspect of this. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you. 16. Re: Margaret (-)(CORBET)MALLORY [1]
I'd like to open discussion of the theory that Margaret (--) (CORBET) MALLORY, widow of Robert CORBET (1383-1420) and wife of William MALLORY ( -1445) may have been the daughter of John BURLEY and sister of William BURLEY. When Sir Roger CORBET of Moreton Corbet, Shropshire and his wife, Elizabeth, daughter of Fulk, 1st Lord Strange of Blackmere, both died in 1395 (he in September and she in November), their son Robert was still a minor of about 12 years of age. Most Church records for Marriages, Deaths, and Baptisms, etc began after 1600, but there seems to be fragments of old tax records much earlier. I had always been told that all the records were burned during the 30 years WAR, but I find this difficult to believe that "ALL" were to come to this end. I have also been told that in the medieval period, it was common to bury the church bell and maybe the records when ever and area was threatened in Northern Europe and that in many of the old churchs there may be
