1. email contacts [1]
This is not related to genealogy, but is computer related. When doing research,I often get a heading on the screen that says "email us" or "contact us" or something in a similar vain. When I click on this heading,I get a message like the following: The directory specified in the command line a: doesn"t exist or is not available or is not writable. OK When I click on OK,I get this: Cannot start Eudora the 1st time with an attachment

Hi Joanne I'd quit whilst I were ahead. Often files are in use so cannot be deleted. A bit like doing a virus scan, and the files in use can't be scanned. 4. Re: got rid of virus now computer problems [0.963938]
Hi Perri You've already tried the first aid #1 (turn off computer). First aid #2 is probably system file checker - go Start/Run type sfc and click OK. If you get a message that a file is corrupt, use your installation CD to replace file(s) If you don't have a CD (not a recovery CD, the full version Windows) then direct to C:\Windows\Options\Cabs Hope that works, Regards, Brian Keith & Perri Downing wrote: > > Hi, > I've been reading this list for a while, hope someone can help

6. Re: bad gateway [0.963938]
Hi Rita DNS error means that the Domain Name could not be converted to a IP address - for example gateway.com might correctly be 145.172.243.4 but the programme that does the conversion has erred. A Gateway is what links two types of networks. No, I'm not that clever Go http://www.webopedia.com/ for lots of good technical words. Hi Caron I updated ZA yesterday, and had to download the whole thing. I have never updated before, and thought that was usual. Hi Laura and fellow listers, I have known of this quote for quite some time, and have much information of the death camps, and who actually did speak out during this dreadful period of history. If anyone is interested, please mail me OFF LIST. And thankyou to Gen Newbie, for allowing this post. Pauline in OZ

>From the description, I thought that there wasn't a preview pane running. But preview pane was checked, until tonight. The bottom half of my screen is the preview pane, so I closed it - I HATE this. Sharon, I read email on a full screen. So I don't understand what you are saying here. My view of the Outlook Express program has my email folders on the left, the main menu at the top, and the full from/subject/date received as a sub-menu with all the email listed beneath that centered. I can see the person's name, the subject, and the date of the message. Go to view/layout and play around until you change to a satisfactory layout. I have ZA-Pro and it performed an automatic update for me the other d

13. Re: ZA not loading [0.963938]
Hi Andrea, My understanding is that you have to go into each profile and *access* individually. I have never used different profiles, know nothing about them, but can't believe you'd need two copies of a programme just so two people could use it. Elista: You might want to get a history book of Poland and Germany. Depending on the year and war, the boundary changed back and forth alot. It looks like Margit has given you some good info. My Husband's line is Prussia and Poland, he had an old uncle who died last year who was some help. I found the manifest of the ship that his father was born on and he was thrilled. Sharon

I hope home.com people have alternative addresses. I am assuming that Excite is conducting its business on West Coast time and that midnight may be their witching hour, which will be 3 AM my time. Marie and I both are on East Coast time and while my cable system (Comcast) is viable there have been no announcements about any replacement email services. Hi pauline I found a web site concerning iron works at Rotherham, where Masbrough is, and it said in part; " Forge Island between the river and the canal (now occupied by Tesco supermarket and car park) was the site of a steam powered forge erected by the Walker Brothers. A forge existed here until 1981. Believe me when you were sat in the Odeon Cinema quietly enjoying a film the vibration from the drop stamp forge nearly shook you out of your seat. In 1746 Samuel Walker came to Rother

We are new to family tree research. Thank you so much for making those of us not familiar with the practice of some folks tearing out original records from the record books. It will make me more understanding when I do get a chance to visit the courthouses of the counties where our families lived and died. How sad that some folks would do that. I guess there are destructive people in every venue. gabby

Yes, and it works fine. They have added a few things such as last few files opened and the like. I turned most of that off as I still like the old fashioned Winzip. Have been using it since dirt was young . Certainly worth the initial investment as all the upgrades then are free.
