3. LANCASTER - emigrated to U.S.A ? [1]
Hello listers! I am not sure if I am in the right place as my specific geography of U.S.A isn't too good. I am trying to identify a studio portrait photograph which was in my grandmother's possession. It is of a woman c. 1890 and was taken by:- RYDER of Syracuse, N.Y. My grandmother, born Margaret GREEN in Attleborough, Nuneaton, Warwickshire, U.K., has written on the back of this portrait "Mother's own cousin, Aunt LANCASTER". Margaret GREEN's mother was Anne GREEN, born Anne TOWNSEND, in

5. Re: Help! Gedcom Files & Ancestry.com [1]
Kristina Join the Crowd. I gave info on my family and my 97 year old mother that is on the Site. This is not right. However they are going to tell you it is public information. But in my case an adoption is entered and those records are not available to the public in NYS so something is wrong. I understand your concern. One has the right for privacy and it is not right. 16. Re Bronx [1]
Thanks for all the clarification about the Bronx. I always thought my mother was born in Manhattan (1895). I searched for years for the place, the only clue being that her older brother had been an altar boy at St Ann's church and had been "King of the Playground" at St. Mary's. Couldn't find any St Ann's near a St Mary's church, thinking the playground belonged to the church. All was cleared up when I found both church and park in the Bronx! So, yes, it is quite confusing at times. Thanks again,
