4. Jennings family research [1]
I am trying to find information on the five sisters of a Geroge Jennings who supposedly arrived in Australia in 1839 on the 'North Briton' . Their father, Joseph, died the day they arrived. I am interested in dicovering news of my grandfather SIGISMUND DE VINO. He went to Rockhampton before 1914, founded the BON MARCHE dye works and died around 1940. I understand he was a well known character.

Thanks for all the feedback. Robert suggested a little more research and I have pored over the item since then and visited many photos sites. As you can see by the dimensions given it is larger than an A4 sheet. It appears to be layers of card 1mm thick. Another thin sheet is pasted over the top. I thought it was a photo when I was first given it but have found a few inconsistencies. The colour of her face, hands, background and table are the same - cream coloured. Hi group Before you say it, here was one mug who did open it and delete. Actually it was dome for me by a helpful granddaughter whilst I made the tea. People were very kind and told me how to recover the file and so far it seems to be OK. I am fortunate in having Windows ME wghich enables you to put the computer where it was 2 or 3 days before. this I did and no trouble at all. Is there an historical society in Queanbeyan, & is there an email address? A wall plaque was placed on a building there, to the memory of Esla E. MUIR. Aunt Esla was a District Nurse in Queanbeyan when she died in a car accident c 1946. Am hoping sks in the town will know its location, & check the death date. Then an obit. might be found.
