Hi Russell, Thanks so much for the reply. It doesn't look like the word in question is "rites". It is only a short word, possibly starting with a capital S or V or Y. It then looks like inse ? After the first letter, it is all small letters ( ie there is no letters with "sticks" such as b, d , p ,t etc ).Its a mystery to me !!!!! Kind regards, Christine

I found the following entry on the It's An Honour awards website (http://www.itsanhonour.gov.au/). Can anyone tell me what the ISM is? He was a police inspector and retired in 1955 and his police service record ends at his retirement, so I don't have any details about the award. Just wondering what it is exactly? Hi everyone, Just wondering if anybody else is researching this family. John James TURNER m Eva KELSEY in Carlton Vic in 1890. Marriage certificate shows Johns age as 25 and place of birth as Launceston Tasmania. I have checked the Tas. BDMs but can't find anything for him. His father is listed as John Turner, a famer, however his mothers name is listed as Unknown.John and Eva have then moved up into Corowa where they have proceeded to have children. I am writing hoping that someone may have the information that i need to fill in a few gaps. I need information about a Jack? Hall (Died 1920-1921)who was married with 4? children. He lived or worked around Geraldra Station, Lambing Flat, NSW or Stockingbingal. His children were placed into care after his death.
