Need to ask you something; the LDS site you are talking about pardon my ignorance but is it to do with the Mormons? If so do you have the address and would you mind e- mailing it to me. If you could also explain exactly what kind of site it is, it's contents etc. I would be very appreciative. It sounds very interesting. Thanks. Carole

8. MACE, Reuben [1]
Are there any decendants of Reuben MACE out there? He was born in Blockley, Gloucester in 1847. I have tracked him through the 1851, 1861 and 1871 census. I can not find him in the 1881 census. In 1871 he was 24 years old and was in Evenlode with a family named CLUFF. Both his mother and father were dead by 1850. Father's name was Richard, mothers name was Ann(e). At the age of 24 Reuben was a cattle and sheep dealer. Am very curious as to what happened to him. Did he immigrate to Australia, USA, or
9. Re: Traced to the 1500's in England. Now what? [1]
Regarding Jen's rapid genealogy - may I offer a caution from experience. When I began my genealogy I was very happy to use the I.G.I. fiche and in time discovered that not all Parish Officials had allowed the I.G.I. a sight of their registers - therefore there were whole blanks in the info. When tracking back on "MY" Charity Crocker born about 1791 who married Richard Metter, because she said she was born in Ashwater, Devon, I was able to track back quite a tree for her. I found that a GOON was "doing"

11. Will Lookup Please [1]
I am wondering if anyone out there has access to wills in Somerset for 1860-1861. I am looking for the will of my g-g-g-g-g-grandmother Ann ETTERY, with the hope that it might reveal her maiden name (which I've recently come to suspect might be SULLY). Her details are as follows: Ann ETTERY (widow of John) Died 31 December 1860 Roadwater, Old Cleeve, Somerset, England Age at death was 85 I'd be grateful for any information that may lead to finding out more about her. TIA Kevin Ettery -- (from the pe
12. middle name: mother's surname? [1]
>From my Scots side, I know that the middle name of a first son may be the mother's surname. Would this be true for Dorset about 1800 as well? The baby was baptised "George Bragg Oxford", so is it reasonable to assume that Bragg might be his mother's surname? Were there any conventions about this sort of thing at the time? Cheers, Cathy

The children of cousins are second cousins, The children of second cousins are third cousins, The children of third cousins are fourth cousins, and so on.
