I've used it, and it took some playing around with the settings to get the output I liked. A couple of things I did learn - if you have some people in your GEDcom that aren't ancestors of the person you select as the root, you will have errors. Try generating your GEDcom using descendants of your oldest known ancestor or using ancestors of your youngest descendant. Then, select yourself as the primary root of the gedhtree output. Here are the pages I generated. http://www.kienowfamily.org/ghtout/ghtindex.h

Thanks for the tip, Dynbach - that's a great start (should have thought of that myself!). One issue, I have tons of pictures that I have attached to many individuals and requested that they print with the Book Report. Looks great in PAF, but when printing to a the .rtf file, the holder for the picture is there, but the picture is not included. Anyway to avoid going back and reinserted each picture each time I want to print these reports? Thanks for any insights. Charlie >"Dynbach"

I have not been on this newsgroup for some years until yesterday & it is interesting the same FTM thread's still abound - namely the lack of any real enhancements to FTM since version 5. I am still on version 5 & have just purchased a cheap version 9 from EBay which I await delivery so I perhaps will be in a good position to comment on enhancements having take the mighty leap in versions, so I will pass on my thoughts then. I have to say I do remember being disappointed at the few enhancements from the fi

You'll need one of the add-on programs such as TreeDraw Legacy Edition http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/TreeDrawInfo.asp $29.95 (makes the vertical charts) or Legacy Charting Companion http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/LCComp.asp for $19.95 (makes horizontal charts). Both are download only. There's also a shareware version of TreeDraw that can use GEDCOM files (easy to create with Legacy). This would let you determine whether it can produce a chart that you like. Check the TreeDraw home page: http://ourw
