Karima. When you open gensmarts you should be able to go to the menu and select file - the open the "file open wizard". It will ask for what program you are using. select Legacy and it should open it right up. Once you have done this. Gensmarts will open the file every time you open the program. It wants to open your Legacy database, not the zip file. When I backup my family file (and media file) in Legacy, a "zip" file is created. When I try to open this file in GenSmarts, and navigate to the place (Data file) where the backed up "zip" files are located, no files are shown. I must be doing something wrong. Can someone help me with this? ~Karima

Hi Karima. I assume GenSmarts is looking for a specific type of file with a specific file extension and is ignoring the zip file [and any other files in that folder] because it is the wrong extension. I use TMG -- I use my regular file which is apparently what it is looking for. I have used GenSmarts since they first came out and I have never had a problem doing that.Since you always have a backup it shouldn't be a concern.
